Diet:

Both browses and grazers. Roots, bulbs, short grass and leaves of various bushes are taken. Independent of water but will drink regularly when water is available.

This is the only gazelle found south of Zambezi. Both sexes have horns which are lyre-shaped and heavily ridged; the males horns are heavier and longer than those of the females. Springbok live in habitats ranging from dry areas of the Kalahari to the barren regions of Namib. They have good eyesight and are highly gregarious. When moving at speed, they will bound into the air with a stiff-legged pronking action, during which the hooves are bunched.
