Ioan and Calin Hunt with Eastcape & Karoo Safaris

A classic father and son hunt, with Ioan and Calin joining Eastcape & Karoo on safari.

Ioan hunted with Dale, and Calin, the son hunted with Ashley. After a few flight delays, Ioan and Calin were fetched from the Bloemfontein airport. The first day started with checking rifles, a good English breakfast and then off for the days hunting.

The property size made it difficult to return for lunch, so packed lunches were the norm. We often found a spectacular view point, or a sheltered dry river bed to setup our table and chairs for a midday snack!

Ioan, hunting with 375 win mag hunted some great trophies including a lechwe and massive eland bull! The buffalo were challenging and several days were spent looking for fresh tracks and old hard boss bulls. The saying of, ‘the harder you try, the luckier you are’, soon paid off, with Ioan hunting an old hard boss buffalo bull. A challenging safari, as we had to hunt this bull out of a group of over 50 buffalo.

Some good accurate shooting was required. Well done Ioan!!

Ioan completed the safari with hunting a majestic sable bull, two warthogs,a springbuck and nyala!

Calin hunting with his Blaser 300 Win Mag also took some magnificent trophies. Walking miles every day we put in the hard yards and we were well deserved taking a great kudu, springbuck, blue and black wildebees, blesbuck and an exceptional impala which was the highlight of the hunt.

We enjoyed some good times together on safari.
